2-COMMISSION AND TERMS OF PAYMENT

No cash discounts are given

Daily Register payment terms:

a. All advertising charges are payable in advance except for accounts that have established credit with this newspaper.

b. National advertising charges are "cash with order" unless placed through The Papert Companies or a recognized advertising agency.

c. Advertisers who have established credit with this newspaper are billed monthly, and payment is due upon receipt of statement.

d. Nonpayment of advertising charges by the last day of the month following the month in which the advertising appears shall, at the publisher's option, be deemed a breach of contract.

e. This newspaper reserves the right to refuse any advertising from any advertiser whose account is in arrears.

3-POLICY

Alcoholic beverage advertising is accepted.

Advertising Policy:

a. Payment in advance is required for political and transient accounts.

b. The publisher reserves the right to approve or reject advertisements.

4-ROP/PREPRINT RATES

National Display Rates - Billing will be based on the amount of column inches used during the calendar month.

National Display Rate...............$12.92 per column inch

Preprint Rates and Policies.........$60 per thousand gross

Maximum page size of insert section must not exceed page dimensions of the newspaper in width or length.

b. Preprints must be delivered to the newspaper, packaged or strapped, three days prior to the date of insertion.

c. Insert rates will apply to single advertising accounts. Inserts made up of advertising from 2 or more firms will be charged at 65% of the national advertising rate.

7-ROP DEPTH REQUIREMENTS

a. All display advertisements must be as many inches tall as columns wide.

b. All advertising measuring more than 19 1/2 inches tall will be charged at the full page depth of 21 1/2 inches.

8-CONTRACT AND COPY REGULATIONS

a. Contracts - national ROP contracts are not offered. Cost is computed on the number of inches used each month.

b. Proofs- proofs to advertiser removes all responsibility for errors in prices or copy from the newspaper when the advertiser or agent approves it.

c. Objectionable Copy - the publisher reserves the right to refuse any advertising copy considered objectionable.

d Adjustments - will be made not to exceed the cost of the advertisement when error is made through no fault of the advertiser. A composition charge of 75¢ per inch will be made for advertisements set but not published.

e. The Daily Register - assumes no responsibility for error in advertising copy when ad is accepted after deadlines or when proof has been approved by advertiser, his agent or representative and in no case will adjustments be made for more than the cost of that part or parts of the advertisement in error.

f. Liquidation or Going Out of Business - cash must accompany all advertisements declaring a merchant's intention to close up or go out of business regardless of previous credit establishment.

g. News Style Ads ads in news style must carry the word advertisement at the top of the ad in 8 point type or larger and must be bordered.

h. Upside-Down Advertisements are not accepted.

Printing is by offset process. Reproduction material in photo print (velox) or negative form is preferred.

Screen should not be finer than 85 lines per inch.

Political advertising must be clearly identified as such and conform to Texas and Federal election codes and must be paid prior to publication.
